On the 15th and 16th of October, Quidax took center stage at Moonshot by TechCabal, one of Africa’s most prestigious tech events, to showcase our ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and supporting startups in the crypto space. As a proud sponsor of the Crypto Innovation Pitch, Quidax awarded $10,000 in cash prizes to three outstanding blockchain startups, highlighting our dedication to driving the future of African tech.
Crypto Innovation Pitch Fest: Celebrating Disruptors
Quidax sponsored the Crypto Innovation Pitch Fest, a competition that brought together some of the brightest minds in the African crypto scene. After a series of impressive pitches, three startups emerged victorious:
- Zinari Pay walked away with the grand prize of $6,000, thanks to their trailblazing crypto payment solutions.
- Play2Learn Games secured $3,000 for their revolutionary blockchain-based learning platform.
- Plychain earned $1,000 for their innovative infrastructure to improve crypto ecosystems.
These startups are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries, and Quidax was thrilled to recognize their efforts.
Quidax’s Booth: Coffee, Popcorn, and Crypto Conversations
Our booth was one of the busiest spots at the event, where attendees enjoyed fresh coffee, popcorn, and engaging conversations with the Quidax team. Visitors learned about our API business—a powerful tool that helps businesses integrate crypto payments seamlessly into their operations. Whether discussing how to optimize payments through digital assets or explaining the simplicity of using Quidax’s white-label solutions, the engagement was electric.
The event helped spark meaningful discussions and collaborations, with many startups, fintech companies, and investors exploring how Quidax’s API can transform their businesses.
Keynote Speech by Quidax CEO Buchi Okoro: Wisdom for Founders
Another highlight of Moonshot 2024 was the keynote address by Quidax CEO Buchi Okoro. Drawing from his personal journey of building Quidax from the ground up, Buchi shared invaluable insights on what it takes to succeed as a startup founder in Africa’s evolving tech landscape. His speech resonated deeply with the audience, offering actionable advice on scaling a business in the fast-paced world of cryptocurrency.
Awards Ceremony: Celebrating Innovation
The event reached its peak when Quidax co-founder Uzo Awili took to the stage to announce the winners of the pitch fest. Uzo delivered a rousing speech and presented the awards to Zinari Pay, Play2Learn Game, and Plychain, recognizing their groundbreaking contributions to the crypto space. It was an exciting moment that underscored Quidax’s dedication to empowering Africa’s next wave of tech entrepreneurs.
