3 Updates in 1 to Give You a Sweeter Experience

In the last couple of months, we have experienced significant growth on and as a result, we are constantly improving to ensure you have an easier experience. On Friday we released 3 updates aimed at resolving some of the first issues you may have experienced.

Trusted Devices

Usually, when you sign in to your Quidax account from a new device, you would get a notification that you should click the link sent to your email to verify the device.

Thanks to feedback from you, we observed that this method of verifying a new device doesn’t work. So we have come up with a better option – a 6 digit code.

For every time you sign in with a new device, we will send a 6-digit code to your email which you can copy and add to the field. Here’s an image of how it looks

Number of Password Attempts

We understand there are way too many passwords you need to keep track of; the password for your email, the password for your Instagram account, password for your phone, password for the toilet…

We know they are a lot and you can sometimes confuse one for the other.

The worst part is when we lock you out and ask you to send your picture and a bunch of other information. Sadly we still request those but we’re working on a solution to make that much easier.

However, to avoid sending you through that long process in the first place, we have found a way to notify you when you enter the wrong password multiple times.

BVN Verification

The last but not the least aims at self-regulation and complying to existing Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-money Laundering (AML) regulation. As we are focused on keeping the crypto space transparent and free from bad people who give crypto a bad name.

To verify your identity we have now added your phone number as part of Level 2 KYC (BVN verification). What this means is that after entering your BVN, you will get a verification code via text message to the phone number associated with your BVN which you will enter for your Level 2 verification to be approved.

BVN Verification

People are often concerned about what information we have access to when we request their BVN. Your BVN doesn’t give us access to your bank information or balances. It only enables us to confirm your identity (real name, phone number and date of birth).

Before we end, here are a few security tips to help secure your Quidax account or any other account:

  • Don’t use a password that someone can easily guess like your name or the name of your dog. (we know your dog is your best friend and can protect you from a lot but it can’t protect you online)
  • Use two-factor authentication (2FA)
  • Use a password manager
  • Check if your email has ever been compromised by clicking here

We are a listening company we would love to hear your feedback and suggestions. You can drop us a DM via any social media channel or contact us via our support channel. We look forward to hearing from you.
